Product Introduction
Pre‑printed slide‑on cable markers are made as closed profile bushings with a preprinted letter, number or symbol marking. The profile of the cable marker bushing can be round or oval or suitably shaped to provide resilient pressure on the cable.
Cable markers of this type require access to the end of the cable or wire, which means that they can only be installed prior to connecting or inserting the connector.
Slide‑on cable markers can have a straight cut, i.e. have straight sides, or they can have a chevron cut, i.e. have uneven sides which mesh with other markers. The second solution ensures that the cable markers do not twist in relation to each other on the electrical cables.
Applications
Electrical Control Panels: Identify individual wires and circuits inside control cabinets.
Industrial Automation: Organize wiring for: PLC systems • Sensors • Actuators • Control circuits • Machine wiring.
Machinery & Equipment: Make maintenance and troubleshooting easier when multiple circuits enter the same machine.
Switchboards & Distribution: Identify individual conductors and circuit groups.
Factory Maintenance: Ideal for retrofit and repair work where cables are already terminated.
Automotive & Electrical Systems: Identify wiring harnesses, control wires and electrical circuits where compact identification is required.
Marker Type Comparison
| Identification Method | Best For | Main Limitation |
|---|---|---|
| Adhesive Label | Flat surfaces & general labeling | Adhesive can be affected by environment |
| Cable Tie Label | Large cables & bundles | Bulkier; requires a cable tie |
| Heat‑Shrink Marker | Permanent wire identification | Usually installed before termination |
| Clip‑On Marker | Existing terminated wires | Requires correct marker size |
| Tie‑On Marker | Large cables & cable bundles | Better suited to larger assemblies |
Value of Cable Identification
The value is the time saved every time someone has to work on the system later.
This is why cable identification becomes especially valuable in:
● Electrical control panels
● Machinery
● Industrial automation
● Switchboards
● Distribution equipment
● Factory maintenance
● Data and communication systems
● Automotive electrical systems
● Building services
Wire and cable markers are widely used to help identify wiring in electrical installations, control panels and maintenance environments.
